I know I’ve talked about faucets before, but I came across this very affordable dog faucet today and couldn’t resist posting. It’s one of the styles that can be attached to a water faucet and used to give dogs a constant clean water supply. At less than $10, it’s not a bad deal at all.

If you’re like me, you probably have hundreds of new pet photos from the holiday season. You’d probably like to carry them around for on-the-fly viewing, but how? I’ve come up with a few solutions. If you have a laptop, it’s easy. Just load the pictures in a folder and you’re ready to go when people ask. A flash drive can be useful, too.

While us humans chow down on things like Slimquick Cleanse, doggies get some much more palatable alternatives. Prior to tonight, I had never seen anything like these Sniffers Shake-Ins. They’re supposed to make dog food tastier and healthier at the same time. Who knows if they really taste better, but with flavors like Liver and Chicken, what dog could resist?

Auto fill dog bowls can be a great way to minimize the dog work time and maximize the dog play time. They’re also a great way to make it harder for dogs to tip the bowl, thus spilling all their water and remaining thirsty until the problem is discovered.
Automatic feeders are great, too, but for a lot of dogs, they’d result in canine obesity and the need for the best diet pills a dog can get.

Of course, I think the next one should be Beans the Dog, squeezed into the same outfit. She’d look more like Anna Nicole than Paris, but that would be the fun of it. Of course, this headless dog bag is pretty cute, too, assuming you can keep the pup’s head outside the bag. Otherwise, it’s a little morbid.

Once you get the dogs outfitted in style, though, you’ll have to upgrade your own luggage to match. If Zero Halliburton and Vuitton are out of your reach, the least you can do is head to a discount store to pick up something that matches.
Most people don’t spend much time thinking about what kind of music their dogs like to listen to, but they should. Just as people enjoy certain types of music, many animals are drawn to different styles. Some dogs like Gogol Bordello (shout out to Twinkie, Brownie, and Tinkerbell), while others prefer German polka (Wienie!).
If you don’t know what kind of music your dogs like, try picking up a variety of used CDs and then wait to see what happens.
Odor eaters, term life insurance, de-worming medications - all relatively unpleasant topics, and all very important. A lot of people buy tiny dogs because they’re cute and fluffy and adorable, but they completely miss the important things like rabies shots and flea/tick/worm prevention.

Since Christmas is coming up, I thought I’d cover a few good dog books - not technical books, but books about living with dogs. Any one of them would make a great gift for the dog lovers you know.
First off, Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog. This one is going to be a movie soon, so you might as well read it now.
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul: Stories of Canine Companionship, Comedy and Courage (Chicken Soup for the Soul) - For those who don’t mind sappy books, this would be perfect (assuming they don’t already have it!).
The Healing Touch for Dogs: The Proven Massage Program for Dogs, Revised Edition - If you’ve ever wanted to learn doggy massage, this covers it.
Although most dog foods are fairly complete, nutritionally speaking, there are definitely circumstances where you should consider pet supplements. Dogs that have been sick or worn out, or older animals may need additional nutrients.
