Dog Books

admin | Books and Movies | Sunday, 30 November 2008

Since Christmas is coming up, I thought I’d cover a few good dog books - not technical books, but books about living with dogs. Any one of them would make a great gift for the dog lovers you know.

First off, Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog.  This one is going to be a movie soon, so you might as well read it now.

Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul: Stories of Canine Companionship, Comedy and Courage (Chicken Soup for the Soul) - For those who don’t mind sappy books, this would be perfect (assuming they don’t already have it!).

The Healing Touch for Dogs: The Proven Massage Program for Dogs, Revised Edition - If you’ve ever wanted to learn doggy massage, this covers it.

Nutrition For Your Dog

admin | The Senior Dog | Sunday, 30 November 2008

Although most dog foods are fairly complete, nutritionally speaking, there are definitely circumstances where you should consider pet supplements.  Dogs that have been sick or worn out, or older animals may need additional nutrients.  An Excel Glucosamine with Vitamin C, for instance, may be especially helpful for senior doggies or younger dogs with joint issues.

Do you use any supplements for your dogs?  What have you found most effective?
